The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan denied the information about the discussion of issues regarding the Tajik-Kyrgyz border at a meeting of representatives of the defense ministries of the CSTO countries in Minsk.
As noted in the commentary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, “we drew attention to the information of the Belarusian side on the results of the meeting of the heads of the departments of international military cooperation of the ministries of defense of the CSTO member states, which was held on March 1-2, 2023 in the city of Minsk of the Republic of Belarus.
The delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan also took part in the work of this meeting, during which the Belarusian side informed about the priority areas of its chairmanship in the CSTO in 2023.
At the same time, we note that there were no issues of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border on the agenda of the event. Moreover, there is no discussion on “developing proposals for relieving tension on the border sections between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan,” which was announced on March 4 of this year. representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, was not conducted.
Issues related to the passage of the line of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border are discussed exclusively at the level of government delegations of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.”
