On March 3, Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov and Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Kamoliddin Muminzod signed a roadmap to expand cooperation in the field of tourism.
The signing took place on March 3 at the Ninth Conference on Interregional Cooperation “Business and Investment Partnership between Russia and Tajikistan” in Dushanbe as part of a working visit by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The roadmap includes 17 events. This is the development of joint tourist routes and brands, their promotion, improvement of conditions for the mutual attraction of Russian and Tajik investors. The list of activities includes the exchange of information and experience in the field of tourism, educational cooperation, as well as assistance in improving the quality of services provided by guides and guide-interpreters.
“Thanks to the joint action plan, we will be able to improve the quality of tourism services in our countries, increase the number and quality of training. All this strengthens relations between our countries no less than business projects. We still see a significant unrealized potential in the tourist exchange between our countries. I am sure that the adoption of the document will not only strengthen our interstate cooperation in the field of tourism, but will also become an additional step for interaction between the tourism industry of the two countries,” Maxim Reshetnikov emphasized.
“Due to the attractive natural and geographical conditions and favorable climate, historical and cultural heritage, Tajikistan has great opportunities for the development of various types of tourism. The Tourism Development Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan is ready to further strengthen and expand cooperation in the field of tourism, to create all the conditions for our guests from Russia,” said Kamoliddin Muminzod.
Already, active work is underway to strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism between Russia and Tajikistan, which is facilitated by the historically established relations between the countries, mutual visa-free regime and developed air traffic.
Russia and Tajikistan are connected by more than 150 flights a week. Flights are operated from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Mineralnye Vody, Samara, Ufa and Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk. The countries are also connected by passenger railway communication from Moscow and Volgograd to Dushanbe, Khujand, Kulyab and other cities.
In addition, on the sidelines of the conference, an agreement was signed between the “Association of Tour Operators” (ATOR) of the Russian Federation and the Association of the Tourism Development Council of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of tourism development, which confirms the interest of business in the growth of mutual tourist flow.
