Afghan Embassy in Spain ‘Interacting’ With Islamic Emirate Foreign Ministry

The Afghan Embassy of Afghanistan in Spain announced its interaction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Spain has announced that the embassy is interacting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the current government of Afghanistan.

In a statement published on the embassy’s Facebook page, the embassy wrote that the Afghan embassy in Madrid represents “Afghanistan and its people” and is trying to provide better consular services for citizens of the country residing in Spain.”

The Afghan Embassy of Afghanistan in Spain announced its interaction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.

The deputy spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Zia Ahmad Takal, said that all the documents sent from this embassy to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate for processing are legal.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers all the documents sent from this embassy to the ministry as valid and legal,” Takal noted.

Meanwhile, the Association for Coordination of Diplomats of Afghanistan in a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, asked Spain to take necessary steps regarding the suspension of activities of the Islamic Emirate representative in the Afghan Embassy in the Hague.

“This will also be in clear contradiction of the European Parliament Resolution on the human rights situation in Afghanistan 2023/2881(RSP)). Henceforth, the Association for Coordination of Diplomats of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan expects that as an advocate of human rights and women’s rights in the world, the Kingdom will take necessary actions regarding the suspension of activities of Taliban representative in the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in the Hague,” the letter reads.

“They are in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country and this interaction has been established. This does not mean lobbying for any direction, nor it has been taken against any direction,” said the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

Some former diplomats consider the interaction of the Afghan embassy in Spain with the Islamic Emirate important for addressing the challenges of the country’s immigrants in Spain.

“Commercial interactions and relations between the Islamic Emirate and that country will get stronger, but it does not mean political interaction and recognition,” said Aziz Marij, a former diplomat.

Earlier, the Afghan embassy in the Netherlands declared in a statement on Wednesday that it was interacting with the Islamic Emirate to offer consular services to Afghan nationals living in that nation.
