Vladimir Podobed: “Tajikistan is one of the most friendly republics to us”

On March 2 and 3, a Russian-Tajik economic forum was held in Dushanbe, within the framework of which more than 30 agreements were signed between the parties. Vladimir Podobed, Chairman of the Penza Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke to a RIA PO correspondent about the participation of the regional delegation in the event.

“Five agreements were signed by representatives of the Penza region, and at the very beginning of the forum. Three of them – the Penza Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Agreements were signed with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the chambers of Sughd and Khatlon regions,” he said.

As part of the event, the agreements were signed by the Penza State Agrarian University and Seyes LLC.

The forum was attended by representatives of many regions of the Russian Federation. In particular, there were delegations from the Republic of Tatarstan, the city of Moscow, the Chelyabinsk, Lipetsk, Omsk regions, the Krasnoyarsk Territory and a number of others.

“The Penza delegation was no less representative – it consisted of 22 people,” said Vladimir Podobed.

Among the members of the delegation were heads of departments, representatives of eight enterprises and rectors of all universities of the Penza region.

According to the chairman of the Penza Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tajikistan is a young republic that is rapidly developing in all areas.

“Over the past 10 years, the city has changed a lot. There is an active construction, and taking into account all the requirements of seismology. The population is growing, it has increased by almost a million people. The majority are young people. Over 65% are people of working age,” Vladimir Podobed emphasized.

The Chairman of the Penza Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that in the republic the Russian language is in constant communication, new schools are being opened where it is taught.

“I want to especially emphasize the respectful attitude towards Russians, towards former international relations and traditions. Economic relations are growing and strengthening, new projects and opportunities for cooperation in other areas are emerging. For example, in the field of education, culture, tourism. It should be noted that almost 1,500 people study at Penza higher educational institutions today. I believe that this is one of the most friendly republics to us,” Vladimir Podobed concluded.
