Russia: US abruptly left Afghanistan to focus on Ukraine

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said the US hastily withdrew its forces from Afghanistan so it can focus on Ukraine.

In an interview for aif.ru, Patrushev stated that the United States’s presence in the Asian country did not contribute to the fight against terrorism, however, it resulted in corruption schemes amounting to billions of dollars and soaring production of drugs.

“It turns out that the reasons for the Americans’ abrupt withdrawal from the country included the need to focus on Ukraine, where, in their view, the puppet Kiev regime was making successful preparations for an offensive against Russia,” Patrushev said.

Patrushev backed his point by recalling a statement made earlier by the American Secretary of State Antony Blinken that were it not for the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the US wouldn’t have been able to aid Kiev as much.

“Besides, some of the equipment withdrawn from Afghanistan was relocated to Europe, mostly to Poland, which made it possible for the Europeans to militarize the Kiev regime,” he added.

The United States, so it can reach its goals, created terrorist organizations such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda and later “fought against them,” Patrushev noted.

“While making a show of killing some terrorist leaders like Osama bin Laden, they trained and armed hundreds of others.”

On August 11, 2016, former US President Donald Trump said the United States created ISIS.

During an elections rally in Florida, Trump called out the then-US President Barack Obama as the “founder of ISIS.”

“He is the founder of Isis. He founded Isis. And, I would say the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton,” adding that Clinton “should get an award from them as the founder of ISIS.”

When later asked by radio show host Hugh Hewitt if he meant that “he (Obama) created the vacuum, he lost the peace,” Trump doubled down on his statement.

“No, I meant he’s the founder of ISIS,” Trump stressed.

“I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award. I give her, too, by the way, Hillary Clinton,” Trump confirmed.

“He was the founder. His, the way he got out of Iraq was that that was the founding of ISIS, okay?”
